The Celtics Sweep their way to the Finals
While the Boston Celtics were heavy favorites against the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference finals, this was not an ordinary sweep. The Pacers had multiple games where they led by at least 5 points in the last 2 minutes of the 4th quarter, and are actually the first team to lose multiple games in a series in this fashion in the last 25 years. The banged-up Pacers gave Boston all they could handle in 3 of the 4 games, led by Andrew Nembhard, who looked like a future star without the Pacers star point guard Tyrese Haliburton. Nembhard routinely made difficult shots overall NBA defenders Jrue Holiday and Jaylen Brown among others. However, the Pacers were just unable to close out games, and the NBA title favorite Boston Celtics now await the winner of the Dallas Mavericks and Minnesota Timberwolves series for a chance at winning their first NBA Finals since 2008.

Jaylen Brown wins Eastern Conference Finals MVP
Fittingly, the Larry Bird Trophy, given to the MVP of the Eastern Conference Finals, goes to a Boston Celtic, but not the one you’d think. While Jayson Tatum is the number 1 option of this Boston Celtics team, it was Jaylen Brown, who won the conference finals MVP in a razor-thin vote. Out of the 9 votes, Brown got 5 votes with Tatum getting 4, and while Jaylen Brown downplayed the award with more work to be done, it is still a huge personal achievement for Brown, who was widely criticized after his underwhelming series against the Miami Heat last season in the Eastern Conference Finals.

Kyrie vs Boston Looms
Perhaps the greatest rivalry in basketball. Kyrie Irving vs his former team the Boston Celtics, is the likely finals matchup. The Dallas Mavericks have a 3-1 lead over the Minnesota Timberwolves to make the NBA Finals and had a 3-0 lead, which no team has ever lost an NBA playoff series with a 3-0 lead (155-0.) Barring a historic collapse of epic proportions, we will get Kyrie vs Boston, with thousands of Celtics fans sure to boo Kyrie (among other things,) for every moment of the game in which Kyrie has the ball. Among other storylines to a potential Mavericks Celtics series is Kristaps Porzingis's return to Dallas as well, with Porzingis's former team the Dallas Mavericks sure to boo him as well, even if it's not as much as the disdain the Celtics fans have for Kyrie.
